When Ashley moved into her charming Edmond home, she was captivated by the secluded neighborhood and its sense of community. However, she envisioned something more. Before Limewash
Before adding the lime wash the house looked like a typical Edmond home. The neutral brick and stone colors were nice but Ashley wanted something more interesting for her exterior.
She gathered inspirational pictures of lime washed homes online and began dreaming. That’s when she talked with Hometown Painting about her project. We described the process and she liked how thoroughly everything was explained. It is important to use the right products and techniques with any specialty project like this one.
The Lime Wash Process
The lime wash process began with some simple steps to make sure the look was exactly what she wanted.
- Power wash the home to clean all the surfaces to be painted.
- Caulk all the cracks and gaps.
- Cover everything that needs to be protected from paint: Doors, windows, sidewalks, etc.
- Apply two coats of Romabio Lime Wash to all the exterior brick and stone.
- Paint and stain all the other surfaces on the home.
- Clean up everything so you would never know a painter was just at the house.
